Vacaville Recreation Scholarships

The 2025-2026 Youth Recreation Scholarship Application is now available! The City of Vacaville offers Vacaville residents an opportunity to apply for a Youth Recreation Scholarship, funded by Measure M, to assist qualifying families with children aged 17 and under to pay for participation in youth recreation programs offered by the Parks and Recreation Department.

Qualifying applicants will be awarded program credit (based on the activities and activities cost submitted) on their Parks and Recreation Registration (CivicRec) account on a first-come, first-serve basis as funding allows.

What happens when I get approved?

Your scholarship is effective the date of approval. Scholarship funds are not retroactive and cannot be applied to registrations that occurred prior to official award of scholarship funds.
You will receive an email notification with the application decision. If approved, you will be given instructions on how to complete the registration process.
A Liability Waiver must be completed for each child in order to register for Parks & Recreation Programming.
Attendance is mandatory to maintain scholarship eligibility. Recipients who attend less than 75%of their registered programs—due to no-shows, excessive absences, or frequent late withdrawals—will be removed from the scholarship program, forfeit any remaining scholarship credits, and may become ineligible for future scholarship opportunities, in accordance with the City of Vacaville’s Credit/Refund Policy.
Approved applicants that have met their allotted amount that wish to register for additional programs, may request additional funds via email. Requests will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis; decisions are based on the status of the scholarship and how much the child has utilized. To ensure that funds are available to as many Vacaville children as possible, not all requests will be accommodated. We thank you in advance for your understanding.

How is the money used?

Scholarship funds may only be used for City of Vacaville Parks & Recreation youth programs and activities. Scholarship awards may not be used toward facility rentals, drop-in activities (w/o prepaid pass), on-line driving, gymnastic parties, splash bash parties or special event activities, such as, but not limited, to the CreekWalk Concert Series.
Scholarship awards cannot be combined with Reduced Fee Discount, Visions in Education funding, are not refundable or transferable or redeemable for cash or check.

Submitting the Application

Applicants must thoroughly complete and submit the Recreation Scholarship Application along with all specified required documentation.

Proof of City of Vacaville residency (any item listed under Proof of Residency).
- Vacaville must be primary residence, TAFB active personnel ok with current military ID.
Provide proof of income (any numbered item listed under proof of income)
- Please black out sensitive information such as social security numbers
Completed application (signed by the parties listed as parent/guardians)
Signed Authorization to Release Information (signed by the parties listed as parent/guardians)
