Parks & Open Space Rules:

While enjoying your time in the park you will likely meet hikers, walkers, joggers, dogs, bike riders, horseback riders, grazing cattle and/or native animals. Observing the rules and trail etiquette will help keep us all safe and happy.

• Hours of Use: ½ hour after Sunrise to ½ hour after Sunset.
• All dogs must be on leash (except in the off-leash enclosure).
• Dog waste must be properly disposed of by owner.
• Smoking and open flames are prohibited.
• Alcoholic beverages are prohibited.

Trail Etiquette

All Trail Users:

• Consult the trail map to choose your route. Some trails are very steep and rocky, and not all trails/bridges are suitable for horses and/or bicycles.
• Dogs must be on-leash at all times (except in the fenced dog park). Clean up after your dog.
• Shut trail gates behind you to prevent cattle from escaping.
• Don’t approach cattle, and do not feed any wildlife!

Bicyclists:

• Reduce speed and announce your presence when passing, and on blind curves or rises.
• Use particular caution when passing children and seniors. Yield to equestrians.
• Class I e-bikes are allowed on trails. Motorcycles and other motorized vehicles are prohibited

Horseback Riders:

• Avoid densely populated areas, make sure your horse is tolerant of other park activities such as grazing cattle, bicycles, disc golf, remote-controlled aircraft, kite-flying, etc.
• On narrow trails, pull over to allow joggers and bicyclists to pass when it is safe to do so.

Pay stations are temporarily down, please use the Park Mobile App.

The Park Mobile App (Zone# 2789) is available to pay through the app for the daily parking fee only.

Anyone purchasing a pass will only be allowed one (1) vehicle per pass. 

To Purchase a 6-Month Pass or an Annual Pass:

Visit Three Oaks Community Center to purchase a six-month vehicle pass for $25 or an annual pass for $50. Both passes are valid from the date of purchase and use the vehicle license plate number for verification. 

If you have a vehicle with a DV (Disabled Veteran) plate, there is no vehicle charge to enter the park.

Walk in pedestrians, equestrians, and bicyclists do not need a permit.

Rentable small-group picnic shelter that is perfect for family reunions and company picnics. Individual picnic tables throughout the park. The park is also ideal for sporting events, such as walkathons and cross country events.

301 Pena Adobe Road • I-80/Peña Adobe Park Exit

The Peña Adobe Historic Area is an 8-acre park that includes the historic Peña Adobe home and the Mowers-Goheen Museum that hosts a free event on the first Saturday of the month, visit the Peña Adobe Historical Society website for more information. This is an ideal location for family picnics, birthday parties, corporate events, festivals, and school field trips.

Fenced 30,000 square foot fenced area for larger dogs and 10,000 square foot area for smaller dogs. Both areas have easy access entries, concrete walkways, doggie drinking fountains, waste bag dispensers, tables, benches and shade trees.

Large shade structures within each section of the dog park will be constructed at a future date to be determined, pending available funding.

Use the dog park facilities at your own risk. Please observe the following:

• All dogs over 4 months of age must have a valid license. (VMC § 6.08.030)
•  Remain in the off-leash area and maintain control over your dog(s) at all times. (VMC § 6.04.080)
• Remove your dog(s) from off-leash area at the first sign of aggression. (VMC § 6.04.080)
• Do not bring dog(s) under 4 months of age, female dog(s) in heat, or intact male dog(s) into the off-leash area. (VMC § 6.04.080)
• Immediately clean up and properly dispose of waste left by your dog(s). (VMC § 6.04.081, & VMC § 12.28.090)
• Children under 16 years of age should be accompanied by an adult. Children under 9 are not recommended in the off-leash area.
• Do not bring food of any kind, or glass containers, into the off-leash area.
• Leashed dogs are welcome at all our parks. Please pick up after them.
