State Parks Program
On June 11, 2024, the Vacaville City Council adopted new names for seven parks and facilities. Brown Street Park was officially named De Colores Park, and the associated future recreation center was named the Malaquias Montoya Center.
De Colores Parks and Malaquias Montoya Center is made possible in part by funding from the California State Parks’ Statewide Park Development and Community Revitalization Program, which supports the creation of new parks and new recreation opportunities in underserved communities.
The De Colores Parks and Malaquias Center will be developed on a City-owned site on Brown Street, adjacent to the Solano County William J. Carroll Government Center at 1119 East Monte Vista Avenue. This location was chosen for its central access to the Brown-Markham neighborhood.
