DoorDash, in partnership with Hello Alice, has created a Fund to provide grants and resources to local businesses across the United States and Puerto Rico affected by natural disasters or major infrastructure failures. Small businesses are the center of local economies, yet nearly 40% of small businesses are unable to reopen following a disaster, according to the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA).
Disasters can occur at a moment's notice and access to capital is crucial to helping a small business rebuild their business following a disaster.
To date, DoorDash has awarded nearly $10 million, helping hundreds of local business owners rebuild and recover.
Applications are open annually due in September. To be eligible, your business must be experiencing hardship due to a state, tribal, or federally-declared natural disaster or major infrastructure failure that occurred within the last 12 months, operate a brick-and-mortar location that has been open for at least six months and have a demonstrated need with a clear plan for use of funds.
