Mutual Housing California is proposing to construct a 206-unit affordable apartment project on a vacant 8.4-acre site located on the west side of Vanden Road and north of New Alamo Creek, in the RH (Residential High) zoning district.
The site plan includes three, 3-story buildings, 258 parking spaces, private recreational facilities, perimeter landscaping, and two driveway entrances on Vanden Road. The proposed floor plans include studio units and 1 to 3-bedroom units ranging in floor area from 350 sq. ft. to 1,080 sq. ft. Exterior materials consist of wood and stucco siding, metal wall panels, and perforated metal panels.
All units will be available to households earning between 30% to 80% of the Area Median Income (AMI), with 52 units designated as Permanent Supportive Housing (PSH) for veterans, and 2 units for onsite management. The proposal also includes the subdivision of the site to create a 7-acre parcel for the apartments, with two lots, 0.75 and 0.55 acres in size for future additional single-family affordable units that will be subject to a separate Planning review process, including noticing.
