Office Hours:  8 AM – 5:30 PM

Permit Counter Hours: 8 AM – 5:30 PM (Permit applications and payments accepted until 5:00 PM every day)

Inspections can be scheduled between 8 AM to 12 PM for morning preference and between 12 PM to 3:30 PM for afternoon preference. Inspectors will do their best to accommodate your preferred inspection time. However, please note that morning and afternoon requests are not guaranteed. Please be available anytime from 8 AM – 3:30 PM.

Inspections are available only on City business days, excluding holidays.

The Building Division counter is closed on Tuesdays from 3:30 PM – 4:30 PM for a weekly staff meeting.

2025 California Codes

On July 1, 2025, the California Standards Commission published the 2025 Triennial Edition of the California Building Standards Code (CBSC), Title 24 of the California Code of Regulations. State law mandates that local jurisdictions, such as the City of Vacaville, implement the recently adopted codes by January 1, 2026. The 2025 Triennial Code Updates are intended to improve fire, life, and safety requirements for new and altered structures and to further conserve energy and reduce emissions.
