Welcome to the City of Vacaville.

Vacaville is a growing and dynamic community that values strong neighborhoods, responsive local government, and a high quality of life. Our community of over 100,000 people has retained a strong sense of character and “small town” charm. Our city blends a rich history with thoughtful growth and innovation, creating a welcoming environment for residents, businesses, and visitors alike. It’s most obvious in our historic downtown, but you can feel it everywhere as residents offer a friendly hello, hold a door open for you, or waive you through a stop sign.

As City Manager, I am honored to serve the Vacaville community. I am committed to providing professional, transparent, and accountable leadership and to ensuring that City services are delivered efficiently and effectively. Working under the policy direction of the City Council, the City Manager’s Office is focused on collaboration, fiscal responsibility, and continuous improvement in service to our community.

The City Manager’s Office provides overall executive leadership for City operations and is responsible for implementing City Council policies and priorities. Our responsibilities include organizational management, budget development and administration, long-range planning, economic development, public information, information technology, enforcement of City laws and ordinances, development of effective short and long-range City plans, and coordination of services, including compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act. 

Strong partnerships are essential to achieving the City’s goals. The City Manager serves as Chief Staff Liaison, working closely with City departments, regional agencies, neighboring jurisdictions, Solano County, the State, and community organizations to foster collaboration and address shared challenges.

Vacaville is a regional employment center and home to world-class employers, including Lonza, as well as a growing base of biotechnology, pharmaceutical, and advanced manufacturing companies. Through strategic economic development efforts, the City supports business retention and expansion, attracts quality jobs, and promotes long-term economic vitality.

Residents enjoy a wide range of recreational opportunities, community programs, and events that enhance quality of life and strengthen community connections. Our thriving downtown hosts activities throughout the year, including the CreekWalk Concert Series, Farmers Market, and Merriment on Main holiday celebration. Vacaville also offers diverse shopping destinations such as the Vacaville Premium Outlets, the Nut Tree, and other retail centers throughout the city, as well as cultural amenities like the Vacaville Performing Arts Theatre.
