No. The City Attorney is appointed by the City Council as the chief legal advisor for the City organization, and the City Attorney only provides legal advice to the City Council and City staff. The City Attorney's Office is legally and ethically precluded from providing legal advice to members of the public.

In addition to contacting a private attorney, legal assistance may be available from one of the following organizations:

Claim forms can be obtained online, in-person at the City Clerk’s office, or by otherwise requesting a claim form from the City Clerk’s office. Please complete the form and attach any documentation (e.g. photos, repair bills, etc.) that you feel may support your claim.  All completed claim forms MUST be submitted to the City Clerk’s Office, either personally or by mail at the City Clerk’s Office. The City Clerk’s Office is located at 650 Merchant Street, Vacaville, CA 95688.

The City of Vacaville utilizes George Hills to administer claims. For questions regarding the status of an existing claim, contact your assigned Claims Adjuster at George Hills.  Your Claims Adjuster’s contact information is listed on the acknowledgement letter sent to you from George Hills. If you have questions regarding how to contact your claims adjuster, please call George Hills, Claims Division at (855) 442-2357.

To submit a complaint about a public nuisance, send an email to CodeEnforcement@cityofvacaville.com. You may also contact a department representative by calling (707) 449-5693, Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 5:30 p.m.

City Hall is closed every other Friday; please look at the City calendar for closure dates.

A compliment or complaint may be made orally or in writing to any police supervisory personnel. When making a complaint, please try to include as much of the following information as possible, such as employee(s) name, badge number, and/or vehicle number. If you do not have this information, simply explain what happened by providing the date, time, and location of the incident.

A parking ticket fine can be paid at the Police Dept. lobby located at 660 Merchant St, Vacaville, CA 95688, by mailing it to the address listed on the bottom of your citation, or online at www.pticket.com. Payment can be made at the Police Dept. in cash, check or money order. Payment by credit card can be made at City Hall Finance, located at 650 Merchant St, Vacaville, CA 95688.

If you believe a parking ticket was issued in error, you may request a Police Dept. “Administrative Review” within 21 days of receiving the citation, or you may mail a letter of explanation to the address listed on the front of the ticket to the attention of “Traffic Supervisor.” Please include any documentation, pictures, or paperwork that may support a dismissal. Also, legibly include your name, address, citation number, and phone number. You will be notified of the finding by mail within 15 days after your review request is submitted.
