Jeanette Wylie was elected to the Vacaville City Council on November 3, 2020, to fulfill a two-year term, and was re-elected on November 8, 2022 to fulfill a 4-year term. She was appointed as Vice Mayor on January 10, 2023 until January 9, 2024.

Wylie's lifelong passion has been working with and for others. She became a teacher at the Travis Unified School District for 22 years. Since retiring from teaching in 2018, she continues to advocate for apprenticeship programs that build not only careers but communities through economic opportunity. Councilmember Wylie has served on the leadership team for Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church here in Vacaville and is actively involved in numerous community activities.

Jeanette pledges to continue listening, to examine all sides of an issue to ensure that recommended public policy represents all the needs and hope for a better community. Wylie believes an open, transparent, and responsive government will enable Vacaville and its citizens to thrive. Her vision includes negotiating a fiscally sound budget, supporting a thriving business community, and attracting new economic development. She plans to use integrity, experience, and energy to serve as the voice of South Vacaville while working diligently and collaboratively with other members of the City Council to preserve and ensure Vacaville's quality of life for all.

Jeanette and her husband Glenn, a retired Biologist, moved here more than three decades ago from Missouri and reside in South Vacaville. Their children, Anna and Scott, attended Travis schools and graduated from Vanden High School.
