VACAVILLE, Calif. – The City of Vacaville has completed the Jepson Parkway Phase II Project, a key component of a multi-modal corridor that will help address congestion and mobility issues affecting the Solano County and Interstate 80 corridor. Phase II extends the Jepson Parkway along Leisure Town Road from Elmira Road to just south of the Ulatis Creek bridge crossing – over one mile of what will ultimately be a 12-mile, four-lane roadway that better connects Vacaville with Fairfield and Suisun City.
“The completion of Jepson Parkway Phase II brings us one step closer to accomplishing a visionary solution to decreasing congestion on our area roadways, increasing connectivity within Solano County, and providing safer travel alternatives for motorists, bicyclists and pedestrians,” said Vacaville Mayor John Carli. “Jepson Parkway also enhances the vitality of Vacaville and its business community while improving the quality of life for residents.”
Vacaville Director of Public Works Brian McLean adds, “While Jepson Parkway is part of a larger transportation vision for the region, with over 20,000 trips taken along the Jepson Parkway corridor daily, this project is already providing substantial relief to both local motorists as well as commuters, through a safer and enhanced roadway.”
The Jepson Parkway Phase II project was funded by over $23 million in state and federal transportation grant funding secured by the City of Vacaville. It included widening Leisure Town Road from Elmira Road to just south of Ulatis Creek from two lanes to four, installation of two new traffic signals at Ulatis Drive and Stonegate Drive, a new 10-foot multi-modal pathway with landscaping, and additional utility improvements along this stretch of roadway.
Construction of Phase II began in summer 2024 and was completed in mid-September 2025.
